DIY Overnight Oats

Being one of the simplest breakfasts to prepare, absolutely delicious and with endless options in flavour, overnight oats hold a special place in our hearts.

Everyone loves an easy to make, healthy breakfast, that can also last a while in the fridge. That's why overnight oats have recently become a popular breakfast option for kids and adults alike.


If you struggle to find the time to make yourself a sturdy breakfast every morning, overnight oats offer the simple solution of preparing one or even more - you can even prep 1 for each day of the week - the night before work. That way you have a delicious breakfast waiting for you when you wake up, which you could also just take with you to work and enjoy later on.


Another amazing thing about overnight oats is that the options in flavour are limitless and if you let your imagination run you can create wonderful combos and get exactly the taste you like!


Easy to make DIY Overnight Oats

Sweet and sturdy, super simple overnight oats


Prep Time - 5 minutes Cooking time - 0 minutes -Overnight in Fridge Total Time - 5 minutes

Servings 1-2

Course Breakfast, Brunch Cuisine Vegan Does it last? Up to 4 days in the fridge

Ingredients:


  • 1 cup rolled oats

  • 1 cup favourite plant-based mylk

Flavour options - You can mix and match any of the following topping to get the flavour you love or experiment with any of your favourite options.

  • 1 banana

  • 1 tbsp raw Cocoa/Maca/Ashwagandha/Turmeric powder

  • 1 tbsp of your favourite nut butter

  • 2 tbsp berries

  • 1 tbsp of your favourite seeds, Chia/Linseeds

  • Vanilla extract/cinnamon

In this photo we mixed together:

  • 1 banana

  • 1 tbsp raw cocoa powder

  • 1 tbsp cacao nibs

  • 1 tsp Maca powder

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Try also:

  • 1 carrot grated

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 tsp ground clove

  • 1/4 tsp ground cardamon

  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1 tbsp raisins

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp maple syrup

Instructions:


  1. In a medium-large airtight jar add oats, mylk and any of your favourite toppings and mix well. If using a banana mash that up before adding it in.

  2. Close the jar and store overnight in the fridge.

  3. To serve, mix it once again and top with any additional favourite toppings.
